I had a chance to listen to and meet Kurihara Harumi yesterday at the Japan Society in New York. I have been aware of her for some time, but have never owned a cook book. She has had several television programs in Japan, many books, and had even been called the Japanese Martha Stuart. She met with two American chef’s, Daisy Martinez and Karen Bussen to speak about hearty home cooking and entertaining.  Afterward I bought her book and had it autographed. My friend Chisato was her translator, and slid us behind Kurihara-san for a quick photo.
