So apparently the people in Maine have so much lobster they don’t know what to do with it! I found these scattered around Camden and Rockland Maine like hot dog stands! It’s the most decadent thing ever! I highly recommend getting one if you have the chance. These were on old fashioned toasted hot dog buns, found right off main street on the docks. There has got to be at least one whole lobster featured in this picture.

I think you meant decAdent.
Yummm… :9 I wish I lived in Maine!
Being a bicoastal myself, I make sure to have a lobster roll every time I am in maine. As well as a lobster or two. Yay for the oceans cockroach!
@Kim: Yup, I did mean decadent. Thanks!
Dude, I yearn for lobster rolls. You can’t find the real deal out on the West Coast. It’s all about those buns — the split-top kind with the exposed sides that you griddle in butter .. mmmmm!

Lobster hasn’t always been a luxury…
My grandparents all have stories of growing up in the 20s and 30s about how some kid in their class at school was always really embarrassed to have to bring lobster to eat for lunch, because it’s all he could afford.
It used to be that in the maritimes, it was the cheap food that only the poor would eat.
Interesting how things change…
