Onsen dinner
There are still a few posts from Japan I have not sorted through. This is one that slipped through the cracks. This meal came the night before the onsen breakfast post. The two things that really stood out for me from this meal were the pork (featured pic) and the aji sashjimi. The pork was crispy on the outside (I don’t know how to describe it, soft but crispy!), and tender on the inside. It was one of my favorite pork dishes from Japan. If anyone can ID the name of it so I can find a recipe, I would be much obliged. Also making an appearance, is ayu, which I would learn to love a few days later in Utsunomia.

Wow, it all looks great! The 3rd picture down though, can you describe what we’re seeing?
It’s been a while, so I am not sure I even remember.
There is snail, tempura shrimp batterred in egg yolk, salmon maki. I could not even begin to guess what the other two items are.
