Pad Thai vendor
Something about this street vendor attracted me to eat the only pad Thai I had on my whole trip to Thailand. I think it is the refinement that goes into setting up a workstation for a single dish. Minimized to it’s purest essentials, it was perfect. This vendor was set up on Sukhimvit soi 11-1 in Bangkok.

And a video of it being prepared:

So many seasonings, and no noodles?
Since there’s no rice or noodles in it, you eat this with rice on the side, or as a snack with beer?
I wonder what the large amount of kosher salt looking stuff is. It’s so much, and can’t be sugar or salt.
There was rice noodles in there. Perhaps they were thrown in before the video starts.
I wonder if the white powder was aji no moto…???
That much aji-no-moto(MSG) in one serving? That’s a scary thought. I hope it’s not.
Hey, John. Do you like squid shio-kara? Yakitori Boy in Philadelphia serves the best homemade. It’s irresistible to order sake to accompany it.
Oh wow, you are right. That is a lot of something. I have no idea.
I do LOVE shiokara. I was talking about it today actually! You have been saying such good things about Yakitori boy, I have to make it down to Philly soon.
have you return already there is a problem here in thai land now (airport closed blah blah blah)
@Zetsubou: Sorry I never got back to you sooner! I missed the comment. I have been back in New York for about a month and a half. Thanks for checking up on me!
