PhillyStyleMag’s Best New Restaurant

I received an email from Amy at Cochon urging me to vote Cochon for Philly’s Best New Restaurant Award (which I highly endorse, even though I have not tried any of the competition). I guess I now have a checklist of places to visit in Philadelphia before I leave for NYC.

 Philly's best

Here are links to the nominated restaurants:

1. Bindi
2. Cochon
3. Coquette
4. Le Virtu
5. Pearl
6. Sonam
7. Supper
8. Zinc

I have to say kudos to Pearl and  Omeda for an amazing animation!

  1. Damn it. Now I have to go to all of these. :)

  2. I leave the city for six months and all of these brand new joints open up! WOW. Philly is a wonderful food town. I’m returning in September for a brief visit – where’s the hottest table in town?

  3. @Gastronomer: I have only been to Cochon and Coquette so far, but the thing I am most excited for (that I have not been to yet either) is Yakitori Boy (mostly because i love Japanese food and karaoke)

  4. Ah, Foodzings has been to Yakitori Boy: http://foodzings.blogspot.com/2008/02/yakitori-boy.html

She didn’t think the food was too hot, but I’ll be interested in reading about your experience :-)

  5. Awww, that’s a bummer, at least I can enjoy the drinking and karaoke (probably the real reason I want to go so bad.

I want to check out James too. I heard great things about it.

  6. James opened right before I left and I totally wanted to go. But then I kept reading reviews that said portions were small (and prices were big). My BF and I eat too much for that kinda place ;-)

Philafoodie loved the place though. If you get a chance, read the man’s review, it’s a treat.
