Zenkichi
I went to Zenkichi yesterday with my friend Tomo. We did not have a reservation, and just walked in. I had noticed the completely unmarked, windowless building before, and wondered what restaurant was there, knowing it was something interesting. The inside was designed for private dining. Each table has it’s own cubby, and a curtain. The ambient light level was incredibly low, adding to the mystique. The featured photo is gyutan (cow tounge). Below that we have a homemade tofu, followed by it’s toppings (katsuo, negi, forget the third one), asparagus and red raddish tempura with macha salt, clams in a mild fish broth, and baked eggplant, which was my favorite dish of the evening.

The third topping’s name was momiji-oroshi. You can make it with radish and red pepper.
everything looks delicious and gorgeous!
